Sendrig joins be:ONE partnership to transform North East social housing

06 May 2024

Sendrig Construction is proud to be part of the be:ONE strategic partnership, a collaborative venture focused on enhancing thousands of social homes across the North East.

This £62.4 million contract led by believe housing, will see us join Buston & Maughan Group, RE:GEN Group and Sunter Limited to drive lasting improvements for communities throughout the region.

Together, we will support believe housing's mission to make essential internal and external upgrades to around 5,600 homes over the next four years. By working collaboratively rather than competitively, we aim to improve customer experience, achieve significant savings and maximise the impact of social value in communities.

This partnership is set to create real value for the North East, with a focus on creating new jobs, apprenticeships and business growth opportunities. At the same time, the be:ONE partnership is committed to cutting carbon emissions, reducing waste and increasing recycling - efforts that align with our shared vision for a more sustainable, resilient future for local residents.

As Ruth Dent, director of assets and compliance at believe housing, expressed, this partnership aims to “bring contractors together with a common goal,” enabling each of us to share best practices, streamline operations and drive performance and innovation. As a result, we can support one another’s business growth while advancing the North East housing and construction sector.

Procurement consultancy Prosper played a key role in facilitating the be:ONE partnership through its contractor framework, providing a compliant, cost-efficient and effective procurement solution.

For Sendrig, this partnership and the awarded component replacement framework involves improving the kitchens and bathrooms of the properties concerned, including a full upgrade to the electrical installations.

We forward to contributing our expertise and dedication to this partnership as we work collectively to improve local homes and strengthen our communities.

Our managing director, Michael Lee, added: “We are thrilled to be involved in the be:ONE partnership alongside believe housing, an innovative housing association. We are committed to investing fully in this initiative and will dedicate our utmost efforts to guarantee its success. This partnership represents a groundbreaking concept within the industry, and we are thankful for the opportunity to participate. We will strive diligently to achieve the outcomes specified in the framework targets.”

This is a partnership and a project that will bring long-term, meaningful change to the region we call home, ensuring believe housing’s investment benefits those who live and work here.
